Dale Moss, WR, South Dakota State – 6033 220 4.48 One-year starter. Developmental receiver who played basketball for four years. Impressive in Shrine Game. Led the Jacks with 61 catches for 949 yards in his first year of football since high school. An ascending player who got better every week from two-a-days until the end of the season. Smart and coachable. There was a quarterback change early in the year, so Moss had to adjust to that change. He can snatch the ball away from his body and make the circus type catch. Adjusts well to the ball in flight. Has some natural receiving skills including good eye/ hand coordination. Rounds off patterns, but just needs work on routes and footwork nuances on every route on the tree. Gets upfield with the ball. Gives an effort to screen off defender as a blocker, but needs more work. An excellent jumper who is aggressive on the ball. Moss is a size and speed prospect with developing skills. His arm length and hand size, plus physical skill numbers, put him in the draftable category. His 6.38 3-cone would have been a Combine record. 2011 stats: 61-949 yds, 15.6 ypr, 6 TDs. Was not invited to the Combine. Pro day numbers: 10-10/BJ, 6.38/3 cone. Fifth/sixth round. (A-33 1/8, H-10 1/8, VJ-41, SS-4.11).
Sean Richardson, S, Vanderbilt – 6024 216 4.52 Three-year starter. A good athlete who is big and rangy and passes the look test for a strong safety. Has the speed to cover ground on the next level. Good hip flexibility for a big man. Good ball skills. A box type safety who has fringe backend coverage skills. A drag down type tackler. Rarely plays man to man but needs technique work on that particular skill. Has outstanding measurables – height, weight, and speed – for the position. He produces with limitations. He has borderline pro physical skills. A developmental player with draftable qualities. Must make his mark on special teams as he learns the strong safety position. 2011 stats: 61 tackles, 7 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 PBU, 1 INT. BTR:left 4.74, right 4.75. OSR:3/20. Seventh round/ PFA. (A-32 5/8, H-9 1/8, VJ-38.5, SS-4.44).
