Draft Rewind 2011 – Leonard Hankerson – Washington Redskins

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about LEONARD HANKERSON: Miami, 6015 209 4.43. Two-year starter with long arms and big hands. Plays both the “x” split end or “‘z”’ flanker position. A good athlete who had his best year as a senior. Improved his consistency in 2010 catching the ball, but still double caught and dropped routine passes at times. A good sized target with deep speed. Does a good job of working back to the ball. A competitor who will catch the ball in a crowd. Can make the vertical over shoulder catch. Tracks the ball into his hands. A good route runner. Inconsistent quarterback play held down his numbers, but  contributed to his ability to catch off target passes. Senior Bowl notes: demonstrated receiving consistency catching the ball during the week. On game day he didn’t catch the ball clean at times and had some drops. He did catch 5 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the game. Beat press coverage with quickness and speed. Set several Hurricane receiving records, including breaking Michael Irvin’s season touchdown mark. 2010 stats: 72-1156 yds, 16.1 ypr, 13 TDs. OSR:10/43. Second/third round. (A-33, H-10 5/8, VJ-36, SS-4.21).
