What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DEREK WOLFE: Cincinnati, 6051 295 4.96. Three-year starter. A high motor great effort player. Relentless to push and leverage the blocker then disengages quickly. Rarely blocked one on one. Can’t be single blocked with a tight end. Plays low with good knee bend and leverage. Outstanding production his senior year, leading all defensive tackles with 21.5 tackles for loss. Finishes the play. Explosive first step quickness to get up the field. Presses the pocket from the inside at tackle or outside at end. Has experience at nose tackle in the nickel packages. A playmaker who takes good angles and hustles down the field. Quick off the snap with no difficulty in disengaging the block. Graded out fifth of 27 defensive tackles athletically at the Combine. Big strong hands to control and stalemate a blocker. Good change of direction with the ability to spin off a block then get square with the line of scrimmage. Not vulnerable to blocks. Never lets down until the play is over. Has some dip and lean ability to turn the corner. Was the Big East co-defensive player of the year. 2011 stats: 70 tackles, 21.5 TFL, 9.5 sacks, 2 FF, 2 FR. Edge speed:left 2.15, right 2.27.
