Draft Rewind 2012- Michael Floyd – Arizona Cardinals

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MICHAEL FLOYD: Notre Dame, 6025 220 4.47. Four-year starter who is the all-time leading receiver in Irish history with 271 catches, 3686 yards, and 37 touchdowns. In the 2010 Sun Bowl versus Miami he went head to head with Brandon Harris, a second round draft choice of the Texans. Floyd plucked six passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He has been Notre Dame’s best football player since his freshman year possessing excellent ball skills, athletic ability, and innate run after catch talent. Doesn’t appear to have any ‘blind’ spots. Catches the ball over his head. A match up nightmare for college corners. Big, strong, and physical in his play. Improved his route running in 2011. Big hands and long arms to catch the ball over the middle. Breaks tackles and can deliver a blow into defender. A natural catcher with excellent functional playing speed. Aligns in several different positions on and off the line of scrimmage. Floyd is a power player who can catch out routes, turn up the field, and run with strong leg drive. Tough to tackle. Snatches and plucks ball in his hands. Can elevate and extend his arms for the sensational catch. Can beat a corner on double moves and gain separation. A willing blocker with a good base and an extension to lock up a corner or come off the corner and block a safety. He was reinstated to the Irish team after suspension for his third alcohol related offense in three years prior to the season. 2011 stats: 100-1147 yds, 11.5 ypr, 9 TDs. OSR:8/42. First round. (A-32 7/8, H-9 3/8, VJ-36.5, SS-DNP).
