What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JOSH GORDON: Baylor, 6031 224 4.51. This report was based on 2010 tape versus Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, TCU, and Illinois. Transferred to Utah in 2011 but did not play. Was a cog in Baylor’s spread offensive scheme that predominantly features horizontal routes, slants, bubble screens, quick hitches, shallow crossers, short out and in cuts. Deep vertical routes are dictated by coverage and blended in as warranted. Gordan is a big, physical, strong receiver who played mostly the “X” or split end position. Generally a hand catcher with run after catch ability. Flashes some elusiveness and open field instincts after catch. Has the speed to get behind college secondaries. Not easy to tackle on short routes or when he gets up ahead of steam. Athletic in space. An explosive player after catch. Will cradle catch the ball in a crowd and covers it up. On vertical stretch routes he has a tendency to push off defensive backs while going for the ball. Physical in-line blocker with effort to contact, position, sustain, and play with balance. Gordon’s 2010 receiving stats: 42 catches, 714 yards, 17.0 yards per catch, and 7 TDs. Other verified measurables include 1.57 seconds/10 yard dash, 35.5″ vertical jump, and 10′-2″ broad jump. Gordon was drafted in the 2012 Supplemental NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He was tabbed with the second pick in the second round. No other players were drafted.
