Draft Rewind 2012 – Mike Adams – Pittsburgh Steelers

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MIKE ADAMS: Ohio State, 6072 323 5.34. Started parts of three years. Suspended the first five games of the 2011 season with an NCAA suspension. He more than held his own competing against some of the Big 10’s best in 2010 including first round picks, JJ Watt, Ryan Kerrigan, and Adrian Clayborn. Physical and athletic in his play. The rangy tackle plays with good knee bend, balance, and shoulder width base. Good flexibility for a big man. Can bend and anchor a bull rush, yet is mobile enough to seal the edge of the defense. A battler with decent jab and recoil. Redirects and stays square with the ability to shadow a pass rusher. Quick react and recover to blitz pickup. Light feet and finish ability. Solid contact and sustain in the run game. Good downfield effort to hustle and make a second block on the move. Effective combo blocker. Plays in both a 2-point preset pass pro stance and down with his hand in the dirt. Starts at left tackle but also has experience at right tackle. Smooth and confident passing off a defensive lineman, twisting to come free. Good use of hands. A starter with little developmental time. Has some red flags that need to be cleared up. OSR:29/48. First/second round. (A-34, H-10 7/8, BP-19, 10-1.83).
