What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MICHAEL BROCKERS: LSU, 6050 322 5.20. Underclass entry. Red-shirt sophomore. Started 15 games in his career. In the SEC championship game versus Georgia, he was the full package of competitiveness, balance, and strength at the point of attack. He played the run and pushed the pocket. He has two gap ability with his size and long arms. Versatile and can play outside at defensive end in a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive system as well as inside at tackle. Stays on his feet with a good base. Reacts well to double teams. He can either drop and stack it or split the center/guard gap and get penetration. Shows some explosiveness even though he plays high. Disruptive presence that must be accounted for. Gives effort and uses a bull rush and a combination of two moves to push the pocket. A penetrating upfield pass rusher. Not just a bull rusher. Uses arm over and rip moves. Can stack, shed, and tackle ball carrier inside. Finds the ball. Must escape on his first move or he may get locked up. Can change direction and spin off blocks. Usually can’t be single blocked. Bats down passes in the throwing lane with his long arms. Blocked a field goal attempt in the title game in Alabama. Inconsistent first step quickness and pressure on the blocker. Plays in a rotation where he is always fresh. Best when slanting and angling the inside gaps. Tough and physical tackler, tackle to tackle. Needs to consciously bend to play with leverage more consistently. Talent to contribute early and provide impact play, but must develop his pro skills. 2011 stats: 54 tackles, 10 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 FF. Edge speed:left 2.34, right 2.38. OSR:20/27. First round. (A-35, H-9 1/8, BP-21, 10-1.82).
