Draft Rewind 2013 – DJ Fluker – San Diego Chargers

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DJ FLUKER: Alabama, 6047 339 5.35. Junior entry. Three-year starter who is animated and appears to enjoy his work. A bone crushing run blocker. A massive man with extra long arms and big hands. Quick enough to cut off the inside slant. A competitor who is physical in his play. Played right tackle for Alabama. Plays with a good base and can lock on a pass rushing defensive end and run them up the field. Gets a good fit and follow through on his base running blocks. More of a mauler than an athletic people mover. Engulfs his target. Has unique physical tools, but needs to hone up his running and pass protection technique. Aggressive base blocker. Shows good contact and follow through. If he struggles on the outside he may find a home inside at guard. Tackles are such a premium that he will get every chance to succeed at that position. A probable first year starter. Will have some technique breakdowns at times as both a run blocker and pass protector. OSR:22/49. First/second round. (A-36 3/8, H-10 1/4, BP-21, 10-1.90).
