Draft Rewind 2013 – AJ Klein – Carolina Panthers

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about AJ KLEIN:  Iowa State, 6013 246 4.73. Three-year starter. Productive over his career with three straight years of over 100 tackles. Four of his five career interceptions went for touchdowns. He also broke up 9 passes in three years. Quick to shuffle and play square with intensity and toughness. Good lateral quickness and pursuit to the sidelines. Flashes a burst to finish off plays. Will contribute on special teams. Versatile enough to play inside in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme or as an outside linebacker. In 2011 he was the co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Will overrun the play at times because he is so aggressive. Gets tied up with the blocker and struggles to disengage. Will get legs cut. Needs work on man-to-man and zone coverage. 2012 stats: 117 T, 3.5 TFL, 1 sack, 2 PBU, 1 INT. OSR:5/17. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 7/8, H-10 1/4, BP-20, SS-DNP).
