DeMarco Murray to the Eagles

What?

RB DeMarco Murray SIGNED by Philadelphia

 Why?

The next bold move in an offseason full of jaw droppers lands arguably the prize of the Eagles free agency class.  Murray departs from the division rival Cowboys, leaving a major void in their backfield.  With the Eagles, Murray offers the north/south pounder that Chip Kelly loves to feed.  In an offense based on spreading things out that forces the defense to play on their heels, a physical between the tackles runner like Murray is ideal.  He’ll see running lanes bigger than he’s ever dealt with.  For this offense, Murray is an upgrade over McCoy.

 What’s Next?

I’m done guessing on this.  Nothing would surprise me with Kelly running the show.  The meat of their transaction report may be done, but Kelly has shown no signs of hesitation if there is a move out there that can make his team better.  Their resources have been spent mostly on defense, which was a smart strategy.  From here, it’s mainly about the draft and continuing to beef up their lines.
