Jermey Parnell to the Jaguars

What?

OT Jermey Parnell SIGNED by Jacksonville

 Why?

Parnell took anything but a direct route to his $32 million deal.  After being waived three times, he clung on to the Cowboys for a few seasons.  Parnell evolved in time and took over for Doug Free after an injury, starting 5 games in the regular season and both playoff games in January.  The Jaguars were among the league leaders in sacks allowed this past year and they had a gaping hole at right tackle.  They are taking a big swing on a guy with 9 career starts, but Parnell looked outstanding on tape in 2014 and should earn this paycheck.

 What’s Next?

A right tackle doesn’t change the face of an offensive line that was arguably the worst in the league last season.  They aren’t done adding to this group but it was essential to be aggressive in pursuit of a veteran force.  Look for JAC to add at least one more veteran and one rookie to this group before the draft is complete.
