Panthers Sign Michael Oher

What?

OT Michael Oher SIGNED by Carolina

 Why?

There is one glaring issue on the Panthers roster and GM David Gettleman made a quick, quietly effective signing to start the process of filling it.  The former first round pick Oher has played for three teams in his young career, but he is a starting caliber RT and certainly better than anything on the Panthers depth chart right now.  In an offense that has shown glimpses of taking off, just to be brought back down due to pressure coming from the opposition, more quality up front is essential.

What’s Next?

The Panthers top need in the draft is still offensive line.  There are a few Oher-level free agent guards available that they have the money to use on, thus the situation is fluid right now.  They went in to the offseason looking for 2 or 3 new starters up front, thus the hole is completely filled just yet.
