Specialist Film Notes: East-West Shrine Game

Bryan Anger - California

The following notes of note are snippets that were taken at live practices, practice tape and game tape. Ourlads NFL Scouting Services studied over 600 players from seven college all-star games. The East-West Shrine Game: Shawn Powell (Florida State) – 6036, 253. Punted five times in the game for a 43.8 average. Blair Walsh (Georgia) – 5093, 186. Kicked a 27-yard field goal in the game. Bryan Anger (California) – 6034, 202. Strong leg combined with a consistent drop and good fundamentals. Launched three booming punts in the game of 59, 60, and 61 yards. The game capped off a solid week of punting in practice. At Cal he was called on to rugby punt. Practice punt hang times were consistent all week between 4.60 and 5.25 with distances between 46 and 55 yards. Matt Prewitt (Kentucky Christian) – 5112, 197. Lacks the leg strength to be in a camp for what he showed in practice. Greg Zuerlein (Nebraska-Omaha/Missouri Western) – 6000, 189. Strong leg. Was a Division II All-American at Nebraska-Omaha before they dropped football. Zuerlein was recruited by several Division I programs, but had been in school five years and had to enroll at another Division II program.
