Robert (BoBo) Cegelski – Ourlads’ NFL Scouts Hall of Fame

Robert “BoBo” James Cegelski, 64, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at United Medical Center West. He was born on Nov. 13, 1936, in Green Bay, Wis., and had lived in Cheyenne since 1963.  Mr. Cegelski was a schoolteacher for Laramie County School District No. 1 for 12 years.

In 1962 he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos and played in the Continental League for the Louisville Raiders and the New York Titans, which are now the New York Jets. He then was a professional football college scout for the New England Patriots, Blesto Combine, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers.

BoBo was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Phi Sigma Kappa, and a life member of both the National Education Association and Montana State University Alumni Association.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth B. (Breeden) Cegelski of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a son and daughter-in-law, Brick and Laura Cegelski of Cheyenne; a daughter, Valerie Cegelski of Cheyenne; his parents, Cyril and Joyce Cegelski of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Brick James Cegelski and Shelby Austin Cegelski, both of Cheyenne; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
