Draft Rewind 2007 – Sidney Rice – Seattle Seahawks

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SIDNEY RICE: South Carolina, 6034 200 4.53. Two-year starter. Early entry. A red-shirt sophomore. Tall and productive receiver. Big target. Will run routes and catch the ball over the middle. Rounds off his patterns. Will catch the ball in his hands, but will also cradle and use his body. Not a pure hand catcher. Makes the sure catch. Will use double moves to get open down the field. Gives effort to block. Effective if he bends his knees. Usually wins the jump ball. Can catch the ball over his shoulder. Body structure, athletic ability, and intelligence are all positive. Slender build. Needs more upper and lower body strength. Needs to drop his weight in and out of his cuts.  A tall vertical receiver that rounds off his cuts. Not elusive. Runs upright. Will struggle on the next level in press coverage unless he improves his strength. Undisciplined route runner. Tall, fast, and can catch. Has all the raw tools, but he needs refinement. Second round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 3/4, SS-4.35, VJ-39.5). Originally drafted by Minnesota.
