Draft Rewind 2009 – Alex Boone – San Francisco 49ers

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ALEX BOONE: Ohio State, 6072 328 5.25. Four-year starter. Angular build. Long arms. Good athletic ability. Plays left tackle but also has experience at right tackle. Has played against some of the best pass rushers in the country in the last three BCS games. Very competitive. Will play high, but can move his feet. Looks like a fit at right tackle in the league. Has been durable. Has the ability to move his feet and execute various techniques required to play on the next level. Isn’t always pretty and smooth, but is effective. Can attain, maintain, and regain his balance. Cuts off the slant. Not a natural knee bender. Good use of hands to maul and control defender. Good on the second level. When he gets too tall he loses contact with target. Gets position and walls off. Marginal in space but gives effort. Good punch and slide. Powerful on down blocks. Improved his play in 2008. Had a strong game against Brian Orakpo in the Fiesta Bowl. Off field red flags need to be cleaned up. OSR:5/47. Fourth round. (A-34 3/8, H-9 7/8, BP-33, 10-1.80).
