Draft Rewind 2013 – John Jenkins – New Orleans Saints

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JOHN JENKINS: Georgia, 6035 346 5.40. Two-year starter who is a junior college transfer. Started seven games as a junior. Only played one year of high school football. Can play in either the 3-4 or 4-3 scheme packages. Powerful at the point of attack. He can stop and stack with the best. Sheds the block quickly, locates, and tackles. Hits the blocker and ball carrier with an explosive force. Pushes the play deep into the backfield. He gives a good effort. Flashes a quick thrust to get control of the blocker. The more he plays, the more feel and awareness he shows. Country strong. Holds his ground. He rotates every third series to keep fresh. Gives effort to run down the field. Good lateral quickness. The backside guard can’t reach him when he’s going play side ‘A’ gap. Good productivity for an inside player with 50 tackles. Plays the best when he’s fresh. May be a rotate or 25-play-a-game guy. Can get turned in the hole if he doesn’t fight pressure. Should be a good backup in his first year. 2012 stats: 50 T, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 1 BB, 1 FR. Medical exclusion at Combine – back and left thigh. Second/ third round. (A-33 1/8, H-9 1/2, BP-30, 10-DNP).
