Draft Rewind 2009 – Fili Moala – Indianapolis Colts

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about FILI MOALA: Southern Cal, 6040 305 5.09. Three-year starter. Long arms and big hands. Sudden first step. Works to finish plays. Good effort to break on ball after the pass comes out to cover downfield. Gets rolled out on plays if he loses his knee bend. Plays best when he’s on the move, slants and angles to stop the run. Projects to a defensive end position. Not an inside power player. Lacks the ability and strength to anchor and hold his ground. Bull rusher that is a good hitter if he tackles at an angle. Angular tackle that will struggle in the run game if he doesn’t get stronger. Average athlete for the position. Plays aggressively and stacks blockers at times. Cousin to Haloti Ngata, defensive tackle for Baltimore. 2008 stats: 30 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 4 1/2 sacks. OSR:14/20. Second/third round. (A-33 3/8, H-10, BP-25, 10-1.71).
