What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS: Washington, 6054 262 4.80. Junior entry. Three-year starter. A long mobile prospect which is favored by NFL teams. He has the skill set to work a defender up the field or collapse the off tackle area. He looks the part, catching the ball with his wide radius. Voted the John Mackey Award as America’s outstanding tight end. His talent is unquestionable. He is a big, physical blocker and receiver. Played in 17 games for the Huskies’ Pac-12 champion basketball team in 2012. Needs to improve his inconsistent play and catch the ball cleanly. Appeared sluggish in 2013. Has some off field red flags. He holds numerous career school records for a tight end including receptions (146), receiving yards (1838), TDs (21), single season catches (69 in 2012), and yards in a season (850). As with his other inconsistencies like coming back to the ball, get off on the snap, and hand strength – he just flashed run after catch ability. With his talent and athleticism he should be a more determined runner and fight for extra yards. More of a screen and wall off blocker with no finish. Stops his feet on contact. Has lazy feet and will waist bend in pass pro. Loses his feet and overextends at times when blocking inline. Struggles blocking in space. A highlight film can be edited over his 38- game career and you see positive position critical factors and position specifics in every phase, but it’s a roll of the dice on the player a team is drafting. Boom or bust. Will be drafted off his sophomore year’s production. 2013 stats: 36-450, 12.5 ypr, 8 TD. Medical exclusion at Combine, right foot. Third/ fourth round. (A-33 3/4, H-9 3/4, BP-20, VJ-DNP).
