Draft Rewind 2014: Alfred Blue, Houston Texans

What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ALFRED BLUE leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft: LSU, 6023, 223, 4.63. Played in 40 games with seven starts in four years. Played in a three-back rotation including Jeremy Hill this past year. Carried the load in the first game of 2013 versus TCU when Hill was suspended. He rushed for 89 yards on 19 carries. A big downhill I-formation back who runs with power and strength. Hits the hole hard and drives his legs. A developing prospect with size and draftable qualities. 2013 stats: 343 yds, 4.8 ypc, 7 TD, 5 rec, 62 yds. OSR:28/ 36. Seventh round/PFA. (A-32 3/8, H-9 7/8, BP-13, SS-4.50).

From the 2014 Ourlads’ Review: Blue has taken advantage of his opportunities in OTAs. He is competing with Andre Brown and Dennis Johnson as the primary backup to Arian Foster. He is showing quick study ability and good running instincts. It may be all ahead for the versatile Blue as he started only seven games in 4 years. He is accustomed to playing in a three back rotation. Blue is a big downhill back who runs with power and strength. He catches the ball easily and naturally.
