Draft Rewind 2014: Bashaud Breeland, Washington Redskins

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about BASHAUD BREELAND: Clemson, 5113, 197, 4.62. One year as a fulltime starter. Started an additional 12 games combined in 2011 and 2012. Recorded 56 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 10 passes defended. Had 13 pass breakups. One of the fastest players for the Tigers. A physical corner that has long arms and may fit into some press schemes. His best position may be as a cover corner. Flashes good ball skills and closing quickness. Has an injury history and limited college experience. Needs more muscle on his slender frame. Needs work on his overall man-to-man coverage technique. 2013 stats: 56 T, 4 INT, 2 FF. BTR:left 4.78, right 4.69. OSR:30/32. Sixth/ seventh round. (A-31 3/4, H-9, VJ-34.5, SS-4.33).

From the 2014 Ourlads’ Review: Breeland is a raw prospect who brings a rangy and physical style of play to the Redskins. Early in OTAs, Breeland was grabbing and pushing receivers down the field which is a penalty in the pro game. Later on in the OTAs he was physical, but did not get reprimanded by the coaches for excessive contact. The former Clemson star plays faster than his 4.62 recorded 40 time at the Combine.
