2012 NFL Undrafted Free Agents – AFC East – New England Patriots

Jeremiah Warren, OL, South Florida – 6027 336 5.25 Three-year starter. Good zone blocker in the run game. Long arms and big hands. Takes good power steps and gets his helmet fitted into the defender. Plays with knee bend and a powerful punch. Physical in his play. Powerful lower body and thick hips. Aggressive and intense on his double team blocks. Plays with good feet and base laterally in pass protection. Good first step quickness and body control. Comes off the ball hard with a forceful takeoff. Has physical tools but needs technique refinement. Can’t be shaken by a defensive tackle. Can win the one-on-one battles. Has the quickness and agility to play in a pro style offense. Has quick and strong hands. Impact hitter on down blocks. Combos off well working to the second level. Can pull and protect play side with power and balance. An area we would encourage him to improve on is his ability to sustain and finish a block. He will be so much more effective if he stays engaged in his blocks. A power player who has experience at left guard and left tackle. Was not invited to the Combine. Fifth/ sixth round. (A-34, H-10 3/8, BP-DNP, 10-DNP).

Markus Zusevics, OT, Iowa – 6053 303 5.05 Two-year starter at right tackle in a pro offensive scheme. He is tough and competitive. Technically plays the game very well with a good base, balance, agility, and foot quickness. Good initial quickness. Mirrors and slides his feet in pass protection. Stays square with his hands in and arms locked out in good position. Works to sustain and finish his block. Quick enough laterally to cut off inside pressure or seal the edge on sweeps. Takes good angles to the second level to cut off linebackers. Good effort and results. Keeps his feet and stays up on the block. Will run through and finish. He must consciously be aware of bending his knees to keep his anchor and not get bulled back. Smooth on blocking twists or spin moves from the edge. Physical player who loves to lock on a defender and give him a ride. Has had an unusual off-season that started out with the flu against Oklahoma in the Insight Bowl. Pulled a hamstring at Shrine Bowl practices, then tore a pectoral muscle benching at the Combine. Did not work out there due to injury. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33, H-10, BP-DNP, 10-DNP).

Marcus Forston, DL, Miami
