Draft Rewind 2007 – Stephen Nicholas – Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about STEPHEN NICHOLAS: South Florida, 6013 232 4.81. Productive three-year starter with good lateral quickness. Quick to key and diagnose a play. Good initial quickness to the first step to get to the ball. Plays on his feet. Will compete. A high motor guy that will finish plays all over the field. Can burst to close on the ball and run through the tackle. Average in space, but will generally breakdown and wrap up. Plays like he got shot with a Roman candle. Finishes play and gives pursuit. Not a natural catcher in his hands, but will body catch interceptions. Engulfed against inside run. Needs to improve his overall body strength to leverage and handle tight ends. Raw in zone and man-to-man coverage skills. Projects as a weak side outside linebacker because of size. Will get caught in traffic on blitzes and edge rushes. Will contribute on special teams. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 3/4, H-8 7/8, BP-29, SS-4.46).
