Draft Rewind 2014: Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis Colts

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DONTE MONCRIEF: Mississippi, 6023 221 4.40. Junior entry. Three-year starter. Is bigger, faster, and stronger than most wide receivers. Demonstrates a quick upfield burst after the catch. Will lay out for a poorly thrown pass. Beats smaller defensive backs with his strength and savvy. Catches the ball away from his body. An above average route runner. Will compete for the ball in a crowd. Good concentration, confidence, and focus. Solid body and foot control to make the circus type catches. Despite size, he is smooth selling double move routes. A willing blocker. Faster than advertised. Ran a 4.40/40 at the Combine and has almost identical measurables to Andre Johnson when he came out of Miami. Creates separation with quickness off the line and in and out of his cuts. An outstanding athlete with rare leaping ability. Is a match-up nightmare for smaller corners and safeties. A physical receiver who has the mentality of a run support safety. Sacrifices body for the ball. Strong enough to break tackles and deliver a blow to a defender. Struggled with consistency because of poor quarterback play last fall. 2013 stats: 59-938, 15.9 ypr, 6 TD. OSR:5/46. Second/third round. (A-32 3/8, H-9 1/8, VJ-39.5, SS-4.30).
