What?
RB CJ Spiller SIGNED by New Orleans
Why?
Could it be that the Sean Payton offense is trying to turn towards a more balanced approach? They’ve been slowly declining over the years and are no longer considered a scary team to face off against. They’ve done a lot to re-work offensive line and gave a long term contract to Mark Ingram. In comes Spiller, a dynamic back that will warrant a lot of touches, to offset the between-the-tackles ability of Ingram and provide a more explosive receiving threat out of the backfield. New Orleans will still be geared towards passing the ball, but it may not be as drastic in year’s past.
What’s Next?
The Saints have been adding draft picks, re-doing the interior of their offensive line, and freeing up money to spend on defense. This is a different era of Saints offseason approach. This re-do could be what ends up saving the Sean Payton era in New Orleans.
