He neutralizes the inside push against big nose tackles and anchors down with leverage. Athletic enough to pull and read on the run, blocking leakage or perimeter support. Locks out with a good two-arm extension in pass protection. There is film where he blocks online defenders seven yards down the field. Good arm length for the position. Plays with a good base and knee bend. Quick laterally on his pull cuts. A competitor who uses his hands well. At times there is a visible snap when delivering a blow. Plays with a wrestler’s type balance. Stays after his target. Patient in pass protection. Lets the defender come to him. Sudden snap and step. Smooth on twist pickups and inside stunts. Takes good second level angles and is aggressive in his play. Has had a few high snaps in the past. Graded above 90% in every game in 2013 and led he team with 42 decleaters. OSR:28/40.
