Baker Mayfield - QB - Oklahoma

Baker Mayfield – QB – Oklahoma

Fifth-year senior from Austin, TX who has, and is currently, rewriting the Oklahoma record books. A touchdown machine, a true dual threat with a competitive streak and passion for the game that couldn’t be higher. Lack of height can make consistent, traditional drop back passing from the pocket a struggle. At his best on the move where he can be innovative and create opportunities on his own. Excels at hitting his target on the move whether he is rolling left or right. Shows nice touch on balls through traffic, fitting balls between different levels of the defense consistently. Overall arm strength is above average, especially when driving the ball deep. Plays in the wide open Oklahoma attack that he has been so accustomed to, may struggle to adapt to an NFL system. May put too much into scrambling and running with the ball, as that style in the NFL will make it tough for him to physically hold up. Mayfield is a Johnny Manziel type without the off-field baggage. His competitive streak and knack for producing in big moments can help hide some of his physical deficiencies. The scrappy Texas native is also a two-time winner of the Burlsworth Trophy (most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on).
