NFL Futures (Week 5)

NFL Futures

Since 1990, 121 of 324 playoff teams advanced to the postseason after starting 2-2 or worse including four such teams in 2016…

Detroit (1-3)

Miami (1-3)

Kansas City (2-2)

New York Giants (2-2)

The Chiefs would end up winning the AFC West.

Speaking of the Chiefs, this year’s version is off to a much better start as they currently remain the league’s only unbeaten team.

However, don’t count the Chiefs in the postseason just yet since both 4-0 2016 clubs – Denver and Minnesota – both ended up missing the postseason.

NFL Futures (Week 5)

Investments…Teams we’ve invested in to win the Super Bowl including the dates and Super Bowl odds at the time of selection.

October 5th

Houston…33-1…No reason for us to keep doubling down after a complete washout of Tennessee. QB Deshaun Watson is the real deal and if you haven’t figured that out just yet then hurry up before these odds drop even more. If the Texans upset the Chiefs on Sunday night, I expect the odds to cut in half and then it will be too late.

New Orleans…50-1…After an initial investment before opening day, the Saints looked overmatched two weeks later. But the defense has stepped up as anticipated thanks to rookie Marshon Lattimore and former undrafted corner Ken Crawley. The Saints secondary is a weakness no more.
