What?
Antonio Cromartie SIGNED by NY Jets
Why?
Over the course of 48 hours, the new brass running the show for the Jets spent $127 million on three cornerbacks. To say they view the position as both important and as a past weakness would be an understatement. Head Coach Todd Bowles reunites with Cromartie in addition to Cromartie joining the Jets reunion headed by Darrelle Revis. In a matter of days, New York has created arguably the top CB trio in the NFL which will allow them to go blitz-crazy right off the bat.
What’s Next?
They still hold two picks in the top 40 overall as well to further strengthen this defense if need be. With the available pass rush talent that will be available, the Jets could really be on to something if their main goal was to build a dominant defense. As the draft nears, it becomes less and less likely they will have a shot at QB Marcus Mariota. Their options will still be plentiful at #6 overall no matter which direction to choose to go in.
